what if the coronavirus is on my gloves, and I touch a handle in the supermarket?
This nurse writes the schedule for 5 hospitals. She says that doctors and nurses are coming off the schedule so there are fewer and fewer people to take care of the patients.
She's also saying that there's a limited number of respirators, so the only people who are getting the respirators are those that the doctor is sure will recover.
That means someone who might recover is not being given the respirator because the situation might be something like this:
A] there are 20 patients who have Corona and
B] all 20 need a respirator but
C] there's only 10 respirators
so the doctors have selected only 10 patuents.
and if they had 20 hospital respirators, perhaps 18 of the patients would survive
but they only have 10 respirators so that means that only 10 Will Survive
....the lack of respirators means that 8 people will die.
Now some of those people who are receiving the respirators came into contact with the virus because they did not stay in their house.
So this could happen to any of us who chooses to go to the store and even with a face mask and gloves on... we might remove the face mask just to be able to speak and in that second the virus can come into our nostrils, or we might be carrying the virus on our hands and when we touch a surface that's metal , the virus can live for 12 hours and then someone else touches that surface and they get the virus .
....if we had not gone to the store,
-- we would not have touched the surface,
-- we would not have passed along the virus,
-- and there would not be an extra person who then shows up to the emergency room and is not able to breathe properly,
-- and now there's competition for the limited amount of hospital respirators.
This video testimony makes it clear that even when we are walking around with gloves and face masks, we can still spread the virus to someone who does not have the gloves
The nurse makes the following point. All the things that you want to do will still be there 6 months from now. You're putting people in danger because you want to go to the store to get some cigarettes. Your body is a carrier. Even when you wear a face mask to protect yourself, and you wear gloves to protect your skin, the gloves are carrying the coronavirus so when you touch any metal, you are leaving behind coronavirus that would not have been there before you visit at the store.
I admit that I have been looking at closed parks and wondering why I can't go in. The point is clear. I could enter the park with a face mask, and gloves, and I could touch a metal doorknob, and someone could follow me and touch that door knob without thinking and touch their eye. And then they have the coronavirus. If I had stayed home, that person who went to the park would not have gotten the coronavirus. So even though I never get the virus, I can cause people to get the virus.
